In Episode 228 of the Small Scale Life Podcast, I had a chance to launch a new effort and Live Stream with Adam Rick from Modern Frontier Farms on the Small Scale Life YouTube Channel. I had interviewed and published a podcast episode back in January and February 2022. We had a chance to learn about Adam and his Grass Fed Farm Business that focuses on Regenerative Agriculture principles and protocols.

Adam and his partners are building soil in old over-fertilized farm fields in Central Wisconsin one animal (cow, pig, chicken and sheep) at a time. Now, Adam isn’t raising all of this livestock on his 5-acre homestead in Dousman, Wisconsin. Adam is working with a local cooperative of Amish farmers, Wautoma Family of Farms, along with other regional producers. Their goal is to produce animals that are raised the way nature intended to raise fantastic tasting food.

Some of my audience is probably asking this question and wondering if the Small Scale Life Podcast is going away?

Those are great questions, and I want to explain what and why I am starting to Live Stream.

I talked about my last live stream with Adam, and that was way back in December 28, 2021.  At that time, I published a live stream called “Monetizing a Homestead with Brian Aleksivich.”   We were living at Driftless Oaks Farm, and I was struggling with the internet at that time.  Since then, life has been busy and I have just not come back around to live streaming.  Frankly, at times it was hard enough to keep up with the blog, podcast, social media, my real job and life!

In July, August and September, I did a lot of traveling for work.  It’s been busy, and like the plants drying out in the Small Scale Garden when I was in St. Louis two weeks ago, content on Small Scale Life dried up.  I want to change that pattern and become very reliable and consistent.  I want to stop the wild swings back and forth of abundance and dearth (content wise).

I have been thinking about how I can make subtle changes to the Small Scale Life Podcast and the Small Scale Life Blog, so I can be consistent and bring value to the audience. I want to be more consistent and have a regularly scheduled show.  Fortunately I have a friend who had an idea and wanted to have more conversations.  That friend is Adam Rick, and we decided that we would have a regularly scheduled live stream show on Mondays on the Small Scale Life YouTube Channel.

Looking Ahead

Tom, Small Scale Life, Small Scale Life Podcast, a new cycle begins

Going forward, I will be hosting a live stream show with Adam on Mondays at 7:30 PM (for now, the time might change in the future depending on how this goes).  I will be capturing the audio and posting an episode of the Small Scale Life Podcast, so it will be available on all podcast streaming platforms.

As far as a name for this show, we’ll have to think about it.  That is putting the cart before the horse at this point, but we’ll think of something.

I am excited about this new endeavor.  There are other changes underway, and it might be a little more work for me initially, but the changes will help the audience find the right content at the right time.  More on that very soon!

Ready or not, here we go. Let’s learn, do, grow and be a little better everyday!
