To make progress on goals, it helps to have an accountability partner. In this 246th Episode of the Small Scale Life Podcast, Tom and Adam discuss progress on small business and wellness goals at the end of January 2025.

Research has shown that by now, most people have let the New Year’s goals, initiatives, mantras and plans fall by the wayside. Change is hard, and it is easier to slide back into old programming and old habits, especially when you cannot SEE progress on the scale, in you bank account or in the way you feel.  In 2019, Tom recorded an episode all about Keeping New Year’s Resolutions, and the number one tip for keeping those resolutions was Getting an Accountability Partner.

Now, in Adam and Tom’s case, Tom is not so sure if he is an accountability partner or just that little devil on my shoulder egging me on to do 24-Hour Fasts and taking a bite of my homemade bird suet cakes.

Tom will let you decide, Lifers.

Accountability Topics of Discussion

Regen Ag, Regenerative Agriculture, Grass Fed Farm, Small Business, Amish

Tom and Adam discuss the following topics during this Accountability Stream:

  • Adam discusses what has been happening on Modern Frontier Farms and some recent successful events he had.
  • Tom discusses his recent canning project using an All American Canner. He canned 18 pints of homemade salsa and 10 quarts of tomato sauce.
  • Tom did a 24-Hour Fast and then a 36-Hour Fast.
  • Tom had an extra Small Scale Life Podcast and Livestream on January 23, 2025.
  • Adam was supposed to go fishing, but he decided not to go.  Instead, Adam had a successful event at Good Harvest Grocery Store in Pewaukee, Wisconsin where he was show casing his primal blend meat and carnitas.
  • Tom discusses his Suet Cakes start-up and special new molds.  Perfection is enemy of the good; get it done!
  • Adam discusses “boxed meat” and the importance of knowing your farmer and where the meat comes from.
  • Adam and Tom also discuss the American food system and potential changes to it with the new Administration in Washington DC.  Currently,  50% of the US beef supply is going to Europe and Japan (because the profit margins are higher).  We do not eat half of the meat we create, but we import a lot of beef from South American or other countries.
